Our standard
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. That standard underpins the accessibility requirements in India's Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, the Guidelines for Indian Government Websites (GIGW 3.0), and IS 17802, and outside India, EN 301 549 and the European Accessibility Act, Section 508 in the United States, and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
What we do
- Semantic HTML with a logical heading structure, landmarks, and a "Skip to content" link.
- Full keyboard operation, including the mobile menu, with visible focus indicators.
- Text alternatives for meaningful images, and colour contrast that meets WCAG AA.
- Text that can be resized and layouts that reflow on small screens without horizontal scrolling.
- Reduced animation for people who set their device to prefer reduced motion.
- Labelled form fields with status messages announced to screen readers.
- Automated accessibility checks on every change, plus manual keyboard testing.
